Stainless Steel Cocktail Shaker

Making cocktails for some time now, my trusty shaker has started to show its age and signs of use, so I decided to look for an upgrade. Looking at many shakers, they all seemed to share a similar design, and nothing really jumped out at me.Then I came across the Snowfox Double Wall shaker. Being familiar with double walled bottles in my Hydroflask coffee mug, I was both surprised and intrigued by this technology being implemented in a shaker. Looking at the colors and design, I found one that really caught my eye, and decided to place an order.Unboxing my Snowfox shaker, I was very impressed with the quality and finish of it. I chose the gold color of shaker, and everything short of the stainless cap was finished in a beautiful hue. The instructions stated to hand wash only, not dish wash, to extend the life of the finish, however; much like my other shaker, knives, and other kitchen tools, handwashing/drying is pretty standard. One thing that I was not expecting was the airtightness of the shaker. While most shakers have lid and cap that can be placed on at once, the Snowfox creates such an amazing seal due to the silicone gasket (more on that below), that it’s necessary to put the lid on first, then the cap. Although it’s a very small detail, and a minor adjustment, this seemed worth mentioning as it is slightly different than any other shaker I have used.This silicone gasket on the top of the body of the shaker is a little bit of an adjustment, as it makes it a little more difficult to get the lid off and on to the shaker. What you get as a result however, is a legitimately airtight shaker, that I was able to hold upside down with one hand, without any concern of the lid slipping, leaking or coming apart. Doing smaller batches of cocktails, this isn’t a problem whatsoever, and I actually prefer the security that the extra seal provides. In a commercial setting though, one might want to get a little comfortable with the shaker before using it as their go-to during a busy happy hour or weekend rush.One of my favorite features of this shaker is what had drawn me to it initially - the double walled construction. For those unfamiliar with double walled bottles (and shakers), there are two layers of metal, separated by a sealed space. This does a couple things functionally. First, this construction insulates the interior contents, keeping hot things hot, and cold things cold. Mixing up cocktails on a hot summer day, or in warmer conditions, this keeps the cocktail colder while slowing (but not stopping), the melting process. Another feature of the double walled construction that I like is that the insulation prevents the outside of the shaker from “sweating”, frosting over on the outside, or even feeling noticeably colder as the cocktail is shaken. This was really a nice comfort factor, not having to worry about cold hands.Overall, I am absolutely in love with this shaker! The only thing that I was not expecting was the very tight seal caused by the silicone gasket around the body, which was certainly an adjustment at first. The benefits to this though, as said before, do make this well worthwhile. I am very impressed with the Snowfox shaker, and for $39.99 for this version, it has incredible value for the price.

I couldn't believe how cold it kept my martinis.... even when I kep the shaker outside on a warm day. No more watery Martinis ! Best of all, it goes perfectly with everything I own. Everyone at my party was asking where I got such a unique color! It will be perfect for this Christmas season as gold goes with everything and is such a sophisticated yet festive color.please make more items in this color ... and of course ....don't ever change the "stay cold" technology.Thanks,Deb in New York
