        Did you know

        According to Martini Institute, a martini mix should be below 20 degrees Fahrenheit when it’s poured. While in a shaker, the temperature is best as low as it can go - between 15 and 19 degrees

        Did you know

        Using a shaker to make a martini will help it reach the ideal colder temperatures more quickly, and using an insulated shaker will keep it there without diluting it

        Gasket = Failure

        I was initially pleased with this shaker. I liked its insulated form factor and it’s just the right size. Unfortunately, after just two or three uses, I realized why none of my other cocktail shakers employee a gasket (silicone, rubber, or otherwise).After just one use, the silicone gasket, which is absolutely required for this shaker’s use, was loose. It required constant adjustment and would regularly slip off while mixing or pouring drinks.Most perplexingly, the gasket serves no particular purpose that I can determine. While the main/bottom portion of the shaker is insulated, the top portion is not. If both halves were insulated, I could understand the purpose of a gasket to support a FULLY-insulated design. But this is not a fully-insulated design, rendering the gasket unnecessary.So, I would recommend buyers who are looking for an insulated shaker look a high quality model that employs a precision, native connection between its halves that does not utilize a gasket of any material. A well-constructed piece with a precision connection will last a lifetime. By contrast, this model will last only as long the gasket holds out (which, if my example is any guide, will be stretched out and failing after only a couple months).

        The Bar is set high and OPEN

        After searching around and reading tons of descriptions and reviews - I decided to try this cocktail shaker.It really is great. The silicone ring provides a great seal. The top doesn't leak when shaking.AND as for the insulation - the body stays comfortable to the touch while keeping the ingredients inside cold. In fact, I left this on my counter overnight after mixing drinks for a party - and found there was still ICE in the shaker the next morning.This drink shaker sets the bar high for other models I have seen.

        Very nice shaker that does not sweat

        I like my martinis cold and I mean VERY cold. I store my gin in the freezer to get it super cold. My old shaker would sweat. I'd end up with water drops on my desktop, around my computer keyboard, and it was just messy. This shaker is great! I toss in a few ice cubes, the gin and stuff. Stays nice and cold and never sweats. Does a great job at insulating. More than once I have had ice in the shaker in the morning.

        Great shaker keeps drinks ICE cold!

        As soon as you pick up the shaker you know it is of high quality. It is very light weight, but the material is extremely solid and has a premium feeling and look to it. I purchased the stainless steel version to match my other bar equipment, and it is very nice looking.First of all this shaker keeps things ICE cold for a long, long time. I have used insulated tumblers in the past but this is the first insulated shaker I have owned. The outside of the shaker doesn't change temperature like a normal stainless steel shaker. You can comfortably hold the shaker without it freezing your hand. The only part that appears to not be insulated is the top and cap. The insulation in the main part of the shaker keeps all the drinks I make cold for up to several hours. I suspect it would work for even longer, but that's about the maximum before the shaker is empty and it's time to make another drink! I really, really wish they sold a larger version of the shaker (twice the size maybe?).The three piece construction of the shaker holds well together when shaking/mixing, and I like the fact it has a built in strainer in the top (just remove the cap and pour). The rubber gasket produces a very tight seal. I have not noticed any leaks while shaking and I also haven't felt as though I have to hold it "together" more than normal.I do want to echo some reviews stating the rubber gasket "slips" or has a tendency to by pulled slightly off the bottom when removing the top. However, it doesn't appear to happen every time I remove the top and usually occurs after it has been sealed for awhile. Each time I have noticed it I have been able to pull the gasket back down into its normal position with no problem.I also want to note that the stainless steel version is the only one advertised as dishwasher safe. Typically I hand wash my bar equipment but the few times I have placed it in a dishwasher it has come out with no problem.In conclusion I highly recommend this shaker and feel it is well worth the price. I only wish they also sold a larger version so I could make larger batches at a time.
