The cup is prettier and sturdier looking in person. Like someone gave a machinist a dare, and they took it way too seriously and made something epic. Clean brushed finish and sturdy thickness of steel. It’s also a little oversized compared to most stemware I’ve owned, but the double walls rob some of that added capacity.My initial plan for this cup was to enjoy a manhattan cocktail while others are having wine. Instead, the insulated walls make it a decent goblet for slushies or anything annoyingly cold. The air gap gets thinner towards the top, so less insulative there, but that gives it a natural feel to drink from. Like it feels like a proper wine glass instead of a thermos.I went for the stainless finish, and glad I did. The directions were clear these are hand wash only, unless you select the stainless finish. Not that I plan to frequently run mine through the dishwasher with pots and pans, but nice knowing I could.I think a set of these would be weird for most. Like if someone poured me a nice bottle with the color and movement of the liquid masked, I’d feel like I’m unable to enjoy the full experience. Now if you’re the type that hammers the same few drinks over and over, masking the appearance may not be a concern. I don’t see this as a replacement for standard wine glasses, but a novel experience.
